Stop your phone from killing the app
If automation “stops by itself” after a while, this is almost always why — and it is not the app deciding to quit. Five minutes of settings fixes it for good.
What is actually happening
Android lets each manufacturer add its own power saving on top, and several of them are aggressive about it: after a few minutes with the screen off, anything running in the background is closed. Not paused — closed. The app did not crash and did not give up; the phone shut it.
Some brands do this much harder than others. If yours is Xiaomi, realme, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, Honor, OnePlus or Samsung, assume it is happening until you have changed the three settings below.
The three settings that matter
The names differ slightly between brands and change between versions, so look for the idea rather than an exact menu path — they are all in your phone’s Settings, under the entry for this app or under Battery.
- Autostart / Auto-launch — allow it. Without this, the app cannot come back on its own after the phone closes it or after a reboot. Usually under Settings › Apps › Strategos Bot, or in a separate Autostart list.
- Battery optimisation — turn it off for this app. Look for Unrestricted, No restrictions, or Don’t optimise. If the only choices are Optimised and Restricted, pick neither — find the unrestricted option, it exists.
- Background activity — allow it. Sometimes called Allow background activity or Run in background. On some brands this appears only after you have turned battery optimisation off.
One more, and it costs nothing: open the recent-apps screen, find Strategos Bot, and lock it (a padlock or pin icon). On several brands this alone prevents most closures.
How to check it worked
Start the bot, turn the screen off, and leave the phone alone for an hour — on the charger, not on battery, for this first test. Then look: if the notification is still there and the log has moved, the settings took. If the notification is gone, one of the three is still switched the wrong way.
A useful detail: the app is built to stop and say so when something is genuinely wrong, rather than sit there pretending. So a silent disappearance is almost never a bug in the automation — it is the phone.
If it still happens
A few brands keep closing apps whatever you set, particularly on older versions. In that case the honest options are a different phone — an old one in a drawer is enough — or running it on a PC instead, which sidesteps the whole question.
