Check that your PC is good enough

You need:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 (or any Mac with macOS 11 or newer)
  • At least 8 GB of RAM (memory)
  • At least 10 GB of free space on your hard drive
  • An internet connection
How to check your RAM on Windows: press Ctrl + Shift + Esc together → click the "Performance" tab → look at "Memory". The number on the right tells you how many GB you have.

Download BlueStacks (the free emulator)

BlueStacks is a free program that lets your PC run Android apps like a real phone would. We need it to install Strategos.

Click this button to go to the official BlueStacks website:

Open BlueStacks website →

On that page, click the big blue button that says "Download BlueStacks 5".

Your browser will download a file called something like BlueStacksInstaller_X.X.X.exe (on Mac it ends in .dmg). Wait for the download to finish — it's about 15 MB.

Important: only download from bluestacks.com. Other sites may have fake versions with viruses.
3

Install BlueStacks

  1. Open the file you just downloaded (double-click on it).
  2. If Windows asks "Do you want to allow this app to make changes?", click Yes.
  3. Click Install now.
  4. Wait. The installation takes about 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. When it's done, BlueStacks opens automatically. You'll see a green Android-style screen.
BlueStacks asks you to sign in with Google? Click "Skip" at the bottom. You don't need a Google account for Strategos.
4

Download the Strategos APK

The APK is the Strategos installer file (like an .exe but for Android). You can get it from our Discord or directly from this site.

Go to the Download page →

Click the latest version (it looks like strategos-bot-v0.1.15-beta.apk) and save it to your Desktop. This makes it easy to find in the next step.

Where did the file go? On Windows, downloaded files usually end up in the Downloads folder. To move it to the Desktop: open the Downloads folder, find the APK, drag it onto the Desktop. Or just remember "I'll find it in Downloads".
5

Install Strategos inside BlueStacks

This is the easiest step. Two ways to do it:

Way 1 — Drag and drop (easiest):

  1. Open the folder where you saved the APK (Desktop or Downloads).
  2. Click on the APK file and hold the mouse button down.
  3. Drag it into the BlueStacks window (the one with the green Android home screen).
  4. Let go of the mouse button.
  5. Wait 20-30 seconds. The Strategos icon appears on the BlueStacks home screen.

Way 2 — Use the install button:

  1. Look at the right side of BlueStacks. There's a vertical toolbar with icons.
  2. Click the icon that looks like APK or a downward arrow with "APK".
  3. A file picker opens. Find the APK file you downloaded and click Open.
  4. Wait. The Strategos icon appears on the BlueStacks home screen.
6

Open Strategos and add your account

  1. Click the Strategos icon on the BlueStacks home screen.
  2. The app opens. You'll see "STRATEGOS BOT" at the top.
  3. Click + AGGIUNGI (Add).
  4. Type your private Travian server URL (something like https://rof.x3.international.travian.com).
  5. Type your in-game username and password.
  6. Click LOGIN.
  7. Configure the bot settings as you would on a phone.
Free tier first: the Free version (1 account, build queue, attack alerts) lets you test without paying. You can upgrade later from inside the app.
7

Keep BlueStacks running

The bot only works while BlueStacks is open. You can minimize the window (click the button at the top right), but do not close it (do not click the button).

If you want the bot to run 24 hours a day:

  • Leave your PC on.
  • Stop your PC from going to sleep: open Windows Settings → System → Power → Screen and sleep → set "When plugged in, put my device to sleep" to Never.
  • Make sure your internet connection is stable.
Saving electricity: a PC running BlueStacks uses about 30-60 watts. Over a month that's roughly 3-5 € of electricity. A real Android phone uses way less, so for long-term use a cheap second-hand Android phone is more economical.

Common problems

BlueStacks says "Virtualization is not enabled"

This means your PC's processor has a feature called "virtualization" turned off. Don't worry — turning it on is free and safe.

Search Google for: "how to enable virtualization on [your PC brand]" (e.g. "how to enable virtualization Lenovo"). Follow the steps — usually you press F2 or Del when your PC starts, find the "Virtualization" option, set it to Enabled, save and restart.

Or follow the official BlueStacks guide: support.bluestacks.com.

BlueStacks is very slow / stutters

Try these in order:

1. Close other programs you're not using (browser, games, video calls).
2. Inside BlueStacks: click the gear icon (Settings) → Performance → set CPU to 4 cores and RAM to 4 GB → Save → Restart BlueStacks.
3. Make sure your laptop is plugged in (battery mode slows it down).
4. If your PC has only 4 GB of RAM, BlueStacks may be too heavy. A real Android phone is the better option.

Antivirus or Windows Defender blocks BlueStacks or the APK

BlueStacks and the Strategos APK are safe — they're not viruses. Some antivirus programs flag emulators by mistake.

To allow them: open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Add or remove exclusions → Add an exclusion → Folder → select the BlueStacks installation folder.

If your antivirus deleted the APK, download it again from our Download page.

The Strategos icon doesn't appear after I install the APK

1. Look on the second BlueStacks home screen — swipe right.
2. Or open the App Drawer (icon with a grid of dots).
3. If still missing, the install probably failed. Re-download the APK and try again.
4. If it keeps failing, check that your BlueStacks is updated to version 5 or later.

"App not installed" error when I drop the APK

This usually means the APK is corrupted (download failed) or you have an older version installed.

Fix:
1. In BlueStacks, find the existing Strategos icon (if any), long-press it and choose Uninstall.
2. Re-download the latest APK from our Download page.
3. Drag the new APK into BlueStacks again.

BlueStacks won't install on my Mac

BlueStacks officially supports Macs with Intel processors. If you have an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3), check the BlueStacks website for the Apple Silicon beta. Otherwise use a Windows PC, or buy a cheap second-hand Android phone (€50 used Samsung A-series works fine for the bot).

Bot doesn't start / says "no internet"

1. Check that BlueStacks itself can reach the internet — open the BlueStacks browser app and try opening google.com.
2. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking BlueStacks.
3. Restart BlueStacks (close it, open it again).
4. If still broken, post in our Discord #tech-support with a screenshot.
